Kudos on Care2. You should get a lot more readers there. I saw the article yesterday featured first in their list of articles.

I've finally figured out why these dogs take to you so quickly when rescued. You smell exactly like them having handled so many of their kin. I'm sure soap and water, aftershave and all that other rot does not disguise the fact that you're part dog, have the scent of hundreds of dogs on you, and become one of their buddies almost immediately.

I must have a little bit of you in me, because I never met a dog that didn't like me after they discovered they had nothing to fear from me except maybe a pat on the head and a scratch behind the ears.
