It was only by applying himself to God and his creation out in the wilderness taking care of his flock, that he saw God in everything around him.He became so close to him, that he became one with him.

He saw God in the heaven's above, in the brooks that flows, in the flowers and plants  around him day and night. But unlike David, we have the written word of God; so by reading  and seeking him in prayer and applying it to our lives, and most importantly, be obedient, and and faithful to him, we too can have a heart like Jesus.

God was everywhere around David, so also he is everywhere around us; he is in us and working through us.  We must choose to follow him with all our hearts.

David put God above all else; we need to do the same.Next, David kept his heart pure before God; he devote himself to keeping  his commands. we should do the same. He always seek what is God's will whenever situations arises; such as when his own people planed to stone him at Zikag.

David also kept his promises; for instance, when he sought out Jonathan's son Maphibacheth and took care of him for the rest of his life. God also take care of us all the days of our lives. David also excesses great patients.

when he was been stoned  by Shemmei,  with one command from David his men  could have made him  history; but he did not retaliated. David was hated without a cause, yet he took no revenge on his enemies.

He showed unconditional love to his friend Jonathan. And even as a teenager, he had the God given ability to defeat  a Bear , a Lion, and also a Giant.  Are there any Giants in your lives? God our giant slayer  can, and will defeat them for you.We are talking about people after God's own heart.
