This article sheds more light on the controversial issues people all over the world have as regards the Bible. It's potency, reality and trutfulness.

In the world of today there are millions and millions of books, which have done a great deal in reforming the human mind and existence. A lot of inventions and secretes have been revealed so far various authors which has either a positive or negative effect on readers. There are series of books which talk about numerous areas concerned with human life and existence. So mention a couple of them, there are books that convey information extensively on: Marriage, Religion, Politics, Science and Technology.

The more complex ones for me are the fictional and imaginary stories that have been articulated over the times by several authors. Books on Marriage, Religion, Politics etc, have created deep mysteries in me as a child that I never believed could be unraveled. At least I was matured enough to see and learn from the fact that before a Mango tree can be gotten its seed had to be planted and nurtured till it grows and becomes the massive, mango tree where everyone can pluck as much fruits as they wanted from.
That gave me the indication that for every fictional story, encyclopedia, scientific discovery, news, entertainment, non-fictional articles etc, just like the mango tree have their seed. That seed is what I call “Revelation” or “Inspiration.” Over the years, there has been transitioning and transmission of information. Many lives have been saved, and many others have been destroyed. I became acquainted with the power in written words when sometimes in the early 90’s a common newspaper publication had led to the destruction of lives and property here in Nigeria. That makes my gut churn with the fact that the word, especially the “written form,” is even more powerful sharper than a sword. With words properly articulated, child can bring down a giant on his knees. I have seen how words have made relationships, revive dead relationships. I have also seen how words can make two friends become bitter enemies. I have seen how tiny sparks of words have also generated warfare that may never end until it finds the right words that will restore peace.
In nuclear chemistry, I have been made to understand, that uranium disintegrates into small fragments of other radioactive elements – knowledge from books too anyway. The end product is a chain of reactions which has been developed for use in nuclear reactors. My point is this – all the written words, in form of books, articles, stories, journals must have a common source. That “Inspiration,” “Revelation” and original copy from which they originate. I had attended church for aeons of years, and I never knew that the inspiration I was looking for was the same book – the most powerful and highly influential and controversial book in the world, which I carried to church every Sunday.

The Bible. Over time we all know that various books various authors, and it made me wonder who the author of the bible was. Would just a human being have written thirty – seven old testament and twenty – nine new testament books which can’t be read and understood in a lifetime? And one Sunday afternoon my pastor solved my “curiosity that killed the cat” when he quoted that verse “All scripture is inspired of God, and is profitable for teaching, reproving, setting things straight and also for discipline.” Hence I realized that the inspiration to the Bible could have only come from God. And on further research, I also found out that the Bible was compiled over several years by a number of authors who made all their write ups into one book – The Bible.
Due to the transmission of the scripts that make up the bible, some have been missing. Other could be cumbersome to be included. How could this be deciphered? I looked at it from the angle of the story of our Lord Jesus Christ – which according to the bible we read today, was made mention first when he was born, and then later when he was twelve. That arouses the question in me. What happened to him within the ages of 1 – 11 years of his life? After He was made mention of at the age of twelve, the next we hear from him was when he was baptized at the age of thirty and he lived a three-year crucial life which is the reason behind our existence today. Hence another question. What happened when he was between the ages of 12 – 29 years of age.

So it comes to mind that the most important pieces of information were compiled into the Bible we read today. With the degree of miracles Jesus did, it’s easy to know that he must have done extremely voluminous things between those ages, that would have been too heavy for us all to carry around if they were included in the Bible of today.
And to my astonishment there are a lot of other compilations that are separately manuscripts from the original authors of the Bible but are not included in the bible as it is today. These compilations were made into a book called the “Lost books of Israel,” which has detailed and exciting information concerning the childhood of Jesus before his baptism and his three-year ministry, leading to His death and resurrection. So the knowledge was established that the bible was a revelation or inspiration given by an invisible God to visible humans for proper recording. Since God supersedes all, then whatever comes from Him must also be superior to all. That’s what makes His book the King of all books.

Another wave of thought had once knocked me of the cliff and am sure who have done likewise to others too and probably you the reader of this article. The miracles recorded in the bible, both old and new testament were too awesome to be true . I wondered today why we can’t have people that can turn water into wine, part the red sea, make the sun stand still and the outstanding miracle of all time to me – Elisha’s dead bones raising someone else from the dead.

These miracles were too heavy for me to comprehend that I wished I had witnessed some. So I started out on another journey of unravelling mysteries. Is the bible true ? Is it from God? Archaeologists have discovered the tomb where Jesus was buried and also fragments of Apostle Peter’s house. As a science student, I had always known from Geography, the earth is said to be spherical. A quotation by the prophet Isaiah concerning God which goes thus “It is He who sits on the circle of the earth.” Isaiah 40:22 which was actually written over two thousand years before scientists eventually established that the earth is not flat but it’s actually spherical. That hit me with the fact then that there could be other biblical quotes that were already recorded and later found by man to be true . In my curiosity, I began studying the bible for more quotes to back the competence of the bible, I stumbled on another bible verse in Leviticus 17:11 which states that: “for the life of the flesh is in the blood.” And that fact was established many years after of the importance of blood with relevance to life and that’s why living things die when they lose so much blood.

Finally, I looked through Matthew 24 when Jesus spoke of the signs of the endtime, which made my blood almost go cold when I found out that virtually all what Jesus had predicted several years ago are happening in the world today. Many people have called themselves the Christ: Jesu Oyingbo etc. many false prophets have risen to deceive the elect. He said there would be food shortages and of cause we are going through such times in Nigeria right now. Hence I became convinced that of a truth, that the Bible is indeed true . What genre of book have you read today? Is it romance? It started from Songs of Solomon in the Bible. Is it Politics? You can find more than enough of it in I and II Kings. Poetry? Consult Ecclesiastes. Religion, Marriage, Business etc are not left out.
The Bible!! The Word of God is the source of our being. Don’t die an atheist. Believe in God. He is real. Believe the Bible. It’s true . Even the air we can’t see but can feel tells of an invisible God with visible works.
