Not So Fast, It's My Country, Too

The liberals are at it again... er, ah, I mean, still at it. In getting their candidates elected by close margins in most instances, party policies and platforms have opened doors to questioning if a US Government will be allowed to govern. I'm not here to give you chapter and verse about patriotism, nor the necessity of supporting a president and a congress in matters of war and in the defense of this homeland.

If you're half smart, you know that a government must have compliance with a nation's laws, until declared unconstitutional. You know, too, that until a president is impeached, he is still The President and the Commander-in-Chief. I am concerned that many of you have forgotten that, and that you are expecting all Conservative office holders to vacate Washington by early January.

Protesters, Republican bashers, and all sorts of Activists appear to have flunked, 'American History," if indeed, they ever studied it while getting their formal educations. The US doesn't come apart because there are crooked contractors making big bucks out of a war. Such is recorded in all of the wars this country has fought since it began. One would think that there is something newly wrong about the money grubbers and their friends in a political party in office. I assure you that such is not the case. World War II, Korea, Viet Nam, and now, Iraq, have been the scene of more stealing than in all peace years, combined.

For the first time in all of my life's decades, I fear that uninformed activists, broadcasters, journalists, publishers and other intellectuals have decided that war is wrong even if it keeps enemies at bay. And, they seem to be convinced that it is unholy, even if major US religions support its leaders, and, that it is immoral and downright distasteful for the purists. Good God Almighty, young and misinformed people; Do you believe that this nation has been successfully defended and made wealthy and healthy, without good leaders who were forced to fight wars along the way?

I know that those who disagree are impatient; that they believe they have the answer, and that their solution is simply the best. Now, there's the problem, most of the solutions are, 'simple.' They are too damn simple, and if they ever get adopted, and we back off from killers posing as religionists, or assume that they are willing to love us into peacetime, it will be your generation that sinks this country. And, in the sinking, it will be you and your job, your families, and those you love beyond today, that pay the price of still another world-wide conflict. That war may not be fought with armaments, but it will be fought, and there's a good chance that Americans may lose it all.

The Armageddon, described and predicted, can be avoided. The first step in that direction is to know your history, and learn the cultures and religions of those who would take us down. They aren't as nice as I am to you. They want to kill you and all you stand for. They want your progress, your money, your prosperity, and they want your place in the sun for the next several hundred years. After all, the US is only 330 years old. The alternative fate for us is found in graphic and costly lessons of Rome and others waiting in the wing.
