Two AuthorsDen Members Nominated for Pushcart Prize

Two members of AuthorsDen have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize for 2008. The two contenders for the prestigious award are, Myrna D. Badgerow, Of Houma, Louisiana, and Richard L. Cederberg of La Mesa, California The nominees are among six named by the editor and publisher of Mississippi Crow Magazine of Dayton, Minnesota.

Nadia Giordana, editor and publisher, announced that works of the two nominated for excellence in poetry and fiction have appeared in the magazine during 2007. Their work is to be judged during coming months toward the top prize.

Mr. Cederberg' nomination came early in 2007, on his nomination for his poem, "One Drop At A Time." It was printed in Mississippi Crow's Issue 2.

Ms. Badgerow's recognition is the newest, and is for her prose, "The Circle of Thoughts," which is a part of Issue 5, of the four-color magazine.

In smaller literary publishing the Pushcart Prize is the equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize. It is accepted as the highest award for writers in small publications of poetry and prose, and certain fiction writing.
