When things get busy in chaotic in our lives we sometimes yearn for the quieter moments, times when we can sit and reflect and enjoy life. It seems that this 'inner peace' we are searching for is ever elusive...something we must work to create.
The truth is, however, that quiet serenity is always available to us because 'inner peace' is our natural state. Your soul, genuine self, consciousness...whatever you want to call it...sits in the background quietly observing all that is, undisturbed by the chaos in the physical world.
Your sense of stress and 'busyness' is created by your mind. The mind is like a hamster on a wheel...it runs and runs without ever really going anywhere, but yet making a lot of noise! This noise drowns out the natural quiet that exists within you. So you seek 'escapes' from the mind, only to find more mental noise.
The key is to see that you are creating the chaos you seek to avoid. If you want to feel peaceful and joyful, simply observe the nature of your mind. See it for what it is...a function of your physical brain that has somehow come to believe that it is the central part of you. Your mind is not you, and does not 'own' you! Your are much bigger than that.
Start your weekend by intending to experience the quiet within you. Allow the quiet of your consciousness to come forward. When you feel it you will know...it is a powerful, undeniable, and extremely joyful sensation! As you experience this you will come to know that everything you seek to obtain already exists inside of you. Enjoy your weekend!
