Rudolph Perpich was and is the “Minnesota Massacre.” Will the “Minnesota Massacre” repeat? Rudolph Perpich is the Hibbing Educator who was the major mentor for the MegaMall. He was schooled in Austria.
Rudolph Perpich, Hibbing School Board, is and was the “Minnesota Massacre.” Following his election loss after the “Minnesota Massacre” where Wendell Anderson became Senator and was appointed by Perpich the Governor. The whole DFL ticket lost. Governor Rudy Perpich took a position with Control Data and re-located to Austria where he became schooled in the Global Economy. He brought his Austrian training back to Minnesota. He ran for Governor again against great odds and won. This led Minnesota’s “goofy” or crazy governor to endorse the MegaMall, 1992 and bring Super Bowl XXVII.
He built the Perpich Center for the Arts and constructed An Olympic Stadium.
A height of his career was to bring Michael Gorbachev and Raisa to Minnesota
On June 3, 1990 was a career highlight. I attended this visit and it changed my life.
