The invasion, occupation and sham Vichy government in Iraq are about oil. Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction. He scared us into fighting a war we need never have fought and should not have fought. Doing so has made us similar to Nazis, who also invaded weak, defenseless countries.
U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur recently said at an anti-war rally in Oberlin that the Iraqis want us out of there. Even the parliament of Bush's Iraqi puppet government opposes the U.S. occupation and voted overwhelmingly that we leave! U.S. Rep. Betty Sutton just returned from Iraq and said the Iraqis want us out!
Hired mercenaries compound the carnage. They suck up billions of our tax dollars on the dole to be paid for by our grandchildren. Congressman and Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul says that the neocons have strayed from American conservatism, and that we now are mired in a "soft fascism". It seems more certain than ever that the bloody experience of Iraq is our new Vietnam. Escalation is what Bush wants, just like Nixon in Vietnam and Cambodia.
