In 1866, Charles F. Haanel was born in Arbor, Michigan. In 1912, he published the Master Key System and was referred to as the father of personal development.
As the Universal powers work their magic, I was researching the Law of Attraction in 2008 and the entire CD set of the Master Key System written by Charles F. Haanel, showed up in my mailbox. To this day, I cannot remember ordering it although grateful the universe felt this was something for me to understand. I found it complex to listen to as it speaks in the vocabulary of that time.
Over the years, I would find myself going back to listen to the tapes discovering how important what we think, drives what we do and how we feel about our world.
These excerpts from Part I of the tapes became a part of my personal building blocks to looking within me and learning to hear the words I think and speak.
- “The world without is a reflection of the world within. What appears without is what has been found within. In the world within may be found infinite wisdom, infinite Power, infinite supply of all that is necessary, waiting for unfoldment, development and expression. If we recognize these potentialities in the world within they will take form in the world without.”
- “As we become conscious of the wisdom in the world within, we mentally take possession of this wisdom, and by taking mental possession we come into actual possession of the power and wisdom necessary to bring into manifestation the essentials necessary for our most complete and harmonious development.”
When the world seems full of crisis, it is easy to want to blame parents, siblings, piers, our environment and for those following organized religion, even God for the occurrences in our world, and for many years, that is where I lived.
Looking within is a practice that with time becomes easier, however in the process can be quite painful as we are looking at places within that make us feel scared and fearful. We want to think we are a good person and that we simply got into a bad situation and that is true to a degree. The question is do we blame others for the choices we make or do we take responsibility for how we think and how we react to the experiences that show up in our world.
2013 has been a year where I have noticed more people working from their heart space within, taking more time to slow down and breathe, reflecting on past years and experiences and trusting themselves to do a little searching from the inside out. For me personally, I am using the tool of writing to explore the decades of my life and the choices I made that got me in and out of situations and experiences. I find myself asking questions like why was I given this lesson or experience and what did I learn from my decisions to assist me in making better choices today. Looking within has taught me how important it is to forgive not only those involved in these life experiences, but more importantly myself. I am learning that looking within should be done with gentleness and compassion of self and always being conscious of how my decisions will play out on my life and that of the people in my life.
Looking within is learning to love yourself for the imperfectly perfect being you are and being kind to yourself will allow the compassion to flow outward. Staying in a heart space understanding that we are ONE all connected in unique ways and being responsible for our own choices will create a harmonious flow of energy on the outside manifesting more love, abundance, laughter, joy and peace.
It is a never-ending journey of learning to hear what we are thinking and hearing the words we are using, and keeping ourselves in check. It starts out with making small shifts. We are caught up in the fast cycle of living and run on autopilot most days and the 70,000 random thoughts rolling around in our heads take control.
Some days when I wake up, I hear myself saying, oh God, my body aches. I cannot walk as far, jump as high, or exercise because it hurts too much. On these days, I am learning to look deeper within, STOP my ‘stinkin thinkin’ and start my thoughts over. I put my feet on the floor and say something like, Hurray! I woke up on the right side of the grass and I have another day to feel the fresh air and smell the flowers. I am not alone and my angels will carry me through this day with joy in my heart and power in my walk. I am grateful for my beautiful eyes to see the beauty around me. My life is rich with abundance. I can write on my computer and share my stories with others around the world. How fabulous is that!
Today I went online and found a download for my Kobo of The Master Key System and thanks to the opportunity of writing this article, I am inspired to spend the time reading it and applying the knowledge that has been available for over 100 years. It is never too late to look inside and create magic in the world we live, outside.
