Happy Thanksgiving Eve. Holidays are wonderful and sometimes stressful. It’s important to take cae of yourself. If you are not feeling good, it’s time to simplify your obligations and work responsibilities. By using your time to care about your well-being, you will find more daily energy and happiness and feel more inner peace.
Life becomes more fulfilling when you do what you love. How can you do more of what you love? Write down some ideas.
Develop new routines and strategies that will limit your anxiety and increase your happiness.
Decide that you will choose one action step today that gives you pleasure and feels fun.
You deserve time for a break and happiness. Decide you will plan at least a few minutes each day dedicated to what makes you happy and makes you smile
Start your day doing something positive. For example, listen to music, meditate, or begin the day with exercise.
Look at your schedule and see where you may be doing too much. Don’t allow your day to be so full that there is no place for taking care of your well-being.
It takes time to develop new habits. Sometimes it may take a little longer than you thought was necessary before the new practice clicks. However, when you do, you begin to feel good. Like any habit, once you take action consistently, your new habit will become second nature. I’ve put together some tips to help you make changes.
1. Reduce the amount of time you worry. Over 90% of what you worry about will work itself out within a few days.
2.Get in the habit of planning for “me time,” or other plans will become a priority. Start your day by lifting your spirits and being intentional about your day. Set the intention for calm and everything working out.
3. Schedule an appointment on your calendar with yourself. Do something you love. Some examples: Take a yoga/exercise class or start a simple yoga routine. I have begun this practice, and it helps me focus during the day and energizes me.
4.Go through an old photo album and remember the good times you had with friends and family.
5. Shift your mindset if you are feeling frustrated or upset. A helpful strategy is to write down a list of 5 things that make you smile. Choose one and do it.
6. Get up an hour earlier to start your day. Use the time to create a daily routine that makes you happy. Ex. Journaling, meditation, reading, writing, or walking.
7. Do less, not more. Remove, simplify, or tweak one thing for better results.
8. Respond to others without reacting. If someone says something to you that you don’t like, don’t answer right back. Ask yourself, am I taking what was said personally? Take a deep breath and count to 10 before you respond.
Start spending quality time with yourself doing what you love. Make it a priority to take care of your well-being, focusing on what makes you feel good. Take care of your well-being, so you feel good today.
