Mostly sad news, I'm afraid.

Hello Everyone,

Unfortunately, I must begin this blog with some bad news. Hershey, seen in the image above on the left, is most likely fading out due to old age. He is our oldest at nine years and nine months, almost ten. The guinea pig on the right is our youngest named, Surprise, at just nine weeks now.

Much like Surprise, it was a surprise to us when Hershey wasn't out begging for dinner last evening and had a hard time taking Critical Care. We rescued him about two years ago, and he has since been our most dedicated foodie. Like a goat, there's almost nothing he won't eat.

It is likely that we will pair Surprise with Onyx who is Hershey's cagemate. He wheeks an alarm type wheek when we take Hershey away. Onyx is a very timid piggie and has bonded well with Hershey who is beyond being bothered with who is the alpha.

In case you don't know, ten years is over three times the life expectancy of a domesticated guinea pig.

In other news, the pain in my back, shoulder, and arm has reduced. I do think that it's in part due to the muscle relaxers of which I've stopped taking, but also the knot hunting I've been doing along with some rigorous stretches.

I still get occasional numbness in two of my fingers along with some muscle weakness with certain movements. I did set up a follow-up appointment, but it's not until June 21st. We may not even be here by then, well, that's at least the plan.

Update:

As I write this, Hershey has gotten worse. He's having a hard time walking and his temperature has noticeably reduced. It is likely that he won't be around by morning….[[|:-(

Anyhow, I did want to thank all of you on Author's Den as I've surpassed 50,000 total pageviews! I'm amazed every day with the growth on there.

I also need to announce the series of short stories I plan to write based in the Starbrood setting that will be exclusive to Neobook. The story is not connected to the main one, other than its events lead up to The Millennial War.

It is called, Kay'Fox and the Seven Teens, and the story takes place in the crowded outer rim of the heliosphere of The Traeon, or the three super-massive stars at the center of Starbrood.
