The gospels keep appearing throughout our time. Gospel of Thomas, that questions the need for church, saying the church is within us. No organized religion would ever go along with that. The gospel of Mary Magadeline shows the power of women - again no church wants to let this be seen. Now the Gospel of Judas.

I enjoy studying the Bible - not as a "born again nut" but to study how people have evolved. I also enjoy Greek and Roman mythology - Hinduism - Buddhaism - Confusicousism and everything else that talks about life after death.

The one thing that can be seen so often is that all these beliefs and myths pop up in the Bible. And sadly, many believe these words are original - they're old, a lot older then the Bible.

As far as the Gospel of Judas - I can't wait till I can read it. I'll keep googling until I can find it. And as far as dying for our sins... we all die for someone's sins. Our children and grandchildren will be dying for our sins when Mother Earth finally dies...

Thanks, Elizabeth, Ian, and Divinity. I appreciate your time and contributions to the discussion. There isn't much discussion at Author's Den. I write hoping to generate thought and discussion, and it's always nice to know when I've influenced another to think, even if their thoughts aren't the same as mine. Maybe the lack of discussion on this site is due to the one comment per article restriction. Maybe readers only come for entertainment. It seems curious when submissions receives hundreds of hits, and two or three comments.

What makes it a valuable find is that it supplies another nail in the coffin of organized religion the corporation, that has been screwing with the minds of the 'dearly devoute' with their holier than thou attitude, and these people haven't even been give the "real" story. It shows just what a altered and manufactured book the bible is. But, those that are indoctrinated never will get the picture. They start slapping that "heritic" and "unbeliever" bulls--- around, and will continue with the parroting that they have learned in their bible classes and on "pass the loot i.e.PTL" religious programming. As long as you have mindless idiots following the leader...truth is concealed for centuries. In this case, for two millenia.

Good article. It definitely made me want to rant. (grin)

It matters to us here in the UK, Sandy. We love a good iniquity. So after we have had Free the Brimingham Six, Free the Guildford Four and Free the Shrewsbury Two we can now do Free The Jerusalem One.
I have known for years of course that Judas was entirely innocent. Once Pilate had declared Jesus (or Johannes of Gamala to give his correct name)had no case to answer and handed him over to the Sanhedrin he could not possibly have been crucified. Only the Romans crucified people, the Jews would have stoned him.
People really should be made to watch Monty Python's Life Of Brian in school, it would teach them not to take things too seriously.
I'll reveal all about why the crucifixion story has to be told the way it is next week, here and at Gather.

Indeed! What do roles matter? what matters is fulfilling and serving your role...I just came from an open mic poetry where a few get up with their poetry about jesus and talking about how place your faith in him...look at all we've endured, ladi da da da...and jesus makes you ...and jesus carries...but I was thinking...what about you? You were the one who had the courage to quit doing that drug, or you were the ones who withstood the abuse of slavery...etc...when young, maybe you need to believe it's outside of yourself, because you are in a position buried far under all your woes and troubles,fears and insecurities, but like a wedding, between a groom and bride, as you grow, you one day look in the mirror and find the best friend you've had all along, and you realize it was you.
