Sweetwater is spellbound by how much Wadi Qelt, originating near Jerusalem and terminating near Jericho, looks like the Grand Canyon, USA, where the first Evil Seed feature film is set. In the photo, that's Greek Orthodox Monastery Saint George in that mesa side. The archaeology is fascinating. Evil Seed: Project Utopia will be filming in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the Bahamas.
New Jericho Coming January 23! The finale of the Evil Seed Trilogy beginning and Sweetwater won't stop until it's finished, the Sci-Fi/Action-Adventure film adaptation from the C.G. McGovern-Bowen novel. What an adventure and challenge it's been to try and keep up with the brilliant author!
Overall Israel is a very safe place to film. Israel is suitable for filming 365 days of the year. In general, there are two main seasons: winter and summer. The light in each season is slightly different and has different benefits. The weather is mild and comfortable throughout most of the year. Film crews in Israel are extremely professional and reliable.
The prices in Israel are similar to filming in the United States and a bit less than filming in Europe (all budgets are in USD and crews are paid in USD). Some equipment can be more expensive in Israel, such as HD cameras, because there is simply less equipment available.
Sweetwater will continue with the spin-off Evil Seed franchise Mini-series hour-long installments geared toward Netflix after New Jericho is finished.
