Strengths Based Living

Using what you've got, not lamenting what you've not.

Your strengths are going to take you far. I know that, because you and I have been given what we need to live our lives. You may have noticed, though, that we live in a problem oriented world! We are encouraged to identify and solve problems, which we can do until the end of the world and still stay stuck in one place.

If we identify one strength that we have, and see what we can do with it, we begin to move forward. Two, three strengths and life is beginning to get interesting! We begin to see the strengths in others and encourage them to do the same. When reluctant folks point out problems to focus on, we recognize the backwards pull that this represents, and keep ourselves focus forward, letting our strengths put things in order.

You are perfect as you are, for the job that you are supposed to do. Keep your eyes open, no blinders, but keep pointing forward.

Meditate on this every day, returning your focus as it wavers. Gently remind yourself, and you will see the difference.
