There are several benefits of using search engines, google, yahoo and Bing, especially for someone like me who is constantly on the computer every day writing something.  It is the infamous search engines themselves, which allow us to access online information like never before.   Search engines provide a wealth of information for professional and personal use; they have repurposing content, marketing strategies, and techniques and tools to make the simplest of thought a creative process that can open the door to a world of adventure and wonder, especially for those who hold writing to the highest degree.

I personally use google to look up words, to find out how to move through certain programs, for business solutions, technical support, directions, education, to find people, to be nosey or simply to network. Google is a starting point for me, so I use it for just about any and everything that interest me.

I use yahoo for my mail mostly, although yahoo can be used as a web portal that can provide links to thousands of other websites.  I read the short news captions, financial information, retail and price comparisons, travel information, maps and directions, but like I mentioned before, I use yahoo, mostly for email.

I’m not that familiar with Bing.  I have no real reason for not liking it as much as the others, except I’m just not used to it.  If I could put Google and Bing in a fighting ring together, I suppose google would win with me, only because google is so automatic for me.  I believe they are much the same, but I like google because I’m used to google, but it’s nice to know that Bing is there.

The limitations and dangers of using information that is widely spread over the internet can be many.  There are viruses.  There are those annoying spams (useless emails) that just keep coming for no real reason at all. There are false advertisements that often produce inaccurate or misleading information. There is always the threat of those individuals who want to do illegal and improper things and of course, there are those who can become addicted to the internet.
