Even during difficult times we can remember the beauty and love within the universe.
Remember
“When we remember we are all mad, the mysteries disappear and life stands explained.”
Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)
Do you remember life before September 11th, 2001? Remember how simple it was. Sure, you had daily chores to attend to but take a moment and remember the feelings you had. Do you remember what security felt like or the ease at which you traveled from here to there? Do you feel the same now?
“Always and never are two words you should always remember never to use.”
Wendell Johnson
Life was always full of surprise and we never felt insecure. Today our world has changed and as spring approaches we sit unsure of what the future will hold. We gaze out countless windows with the knowledge that there are others who do not wish us good but would rather do us harm. Underneath our calm exterior lies the vibration of being at risk. We can remember simpler times when our hearts were light and at peace.
“When you drink the water, remember the spring.”
Chinese Proverb
It is during times like this that our remembrance could also be directed to the real truth of who we are as a people and as individuals. We can remember the voices of our forefathers who wisely created our constitution and courageously defeated an enemy who was determined to prevent the expansion of freedom. Their time like ours was full of uncertainty, insecurity, and risk but in spite of these obstacles they forged a new nation.
“Remember that happiness is a way of travel - not a destination.”
Roy M. Goodman
In our search for a new future let us remember these things. Let us courageously move ahead with the vision of a new world and in the midst of our present troubles remember to enjoy each moment and to see before us the future of our choice.
“One day at a time- this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.”
Ida Scott Taylor.
As spring approaches and flowers begin to bloom we can pause and see their beauty. We can remember that within each flower lie the beauty of the universe and the love of the Creator’s touch. Our minds and our hearts can tune into the vibrations of healing and create a new and more vibrant world full of colors, bird songs, and the knowledge of rebirth.
