To the American people who read me
By insisting on beating the rich people and forcing them to pay more taxes, President Obama will certainly win the battle against those people, who in fact made the USA what it is today, the superpower of the world. With all their fortune, the rich will not fight back, as they always have respect for our president.
We know however, that the money the federal government will get with this tax increase for the rich, will not save the financial situation, as the amount of the tax increase is miserable and will not suffice to pay the expenses of the government for more than one week. Yes, Obama will be the winner, but the American people and the world are watching. He will be remembered, not as the one who fought for them or to enhance the lamentable fiscal situation, but as the one who fought for the principle, which in fact does not elevate his prestige or the prestige of the Democratic Party.
This time, the president had an excellent opportunity to show not only to our people but to the world that he is a generous president. My friends who read me, allow me to mention an Arabic saying from my late father, who beside his professional job, was a community arbitrator and a good story teller. This is from one of his stories.
“The generous offer precious stones when their price is climbing. The stingy will not offer water to the thirsty who is dying. My father gave a fortune to sick and needy, and I in turn will add the last penny left in my pocket.” I would say to the generous, “The world is yours, sons of purity!”
Allow me to mention another story from my reading:
When Saladin came back to Jerusalem he found that the Crusaders had slaughtered all the people in the Omar Mosque. Instead of avenging the dead people by killing the Crusaders, he paid a ship to take them back to Europe, and warned them never to come back. This fact I call “human generosity”.
America gave Obama everything to emerge and to become what he is today and in turn he wants to punish the rich, who created the wealth of America.
