In my view, President Obama neglected the security of this country, or maybe he thought to do better. I believe that the time will come when the president will have to answer for all his mistakes, and he will realize that he is not in school, but he is leading a big country.
In reference to ISIS and the president’s most recent speech, he does not realize the emergency of the situation. Already President Bush had warned that if we were to leave Iraq too early there would be a catastrophe there. If the Iraqi president did not accept our conditions, we could have forced him, as we have lost a lot of soldiers there. When I heard the last speech, in my mind, as an old officer in the army, I thought that while he was delivering the speech, we should have already been hitting the ISIS strongly, but I guess he does not see it that way.
I know that Obama had studied law and eventually became a law professor. This is however very far from actually knowing military battle. Has he ever been in the army? Has he ever fought a battle? In fact, he is maybe innocent and the people who elected him are responsible for the outcome, for what became of America these days.
Now we realize that our president was wrong from the beginning by siding with the Muslim Brotherhood and by supporting Morsi as President of Egypt. We also realize that what General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi did was correct and that Netanyahu was right by siding with him and not follow Obama. As we can see now, Obama chose Qatar and Hamas during the war and neglected our closest ally Israel, when it needed our help and support the most.
I really hope that finally our president will understand that now is the time to review his policy and admit his wrong doing. After all, the life of our fellow citizens and our nation is more important that his presidency. As a of man of knowledge, as he seems to pretend to be, he should accept to let the generals who know better, such as General David Howell Petraeus, General Stanley Allen McChrystal, or any competent leader do what is needed, before disaster strikes. Time is not in favor of the US. ISIS advances and becomes harder and harder to dislodge. It is time to accelerate our actions, if we do not want to arrive to that point.

During Obama's latest speech, I noticed a definite reluctance to broadcast his strategy because ISIS was certainly listening along with all the pundits like you so that they could trounce on him for either being a hawk or being a dove, and worst of all, so that he would play his hand clearly to those who are trying to undermine freedom for their own fanatical purposes. I am quite sure that he has a clear and military backed strategy in place, waiting for the politicos in Congress to battle it out in debate, while quietly going about the business of taking care of business when it comes to eminent threats.
The United States is in a better place because of his steady, unflinching, leadership. That doesn't mean that he hasn't made mistakes, everybody does. It's just that he hasn't made the big mistake of dragging us into another war over nothing.
