Excerpt from There's Some Truth In It All
I Am Here
Many times in history there came martyr after martyr attempting to convince the darker persons in this land that there is more to the story behind who you really are and where you came from. Any person who claims to be African American sets himself up for a more in depth question (Where in Africa are you from?) leaving him/her feeling crazy because the ultimate question that any man can ask themselves arises. Who am I? Is it a coincidence that there were mostly whites on television in the past and over the years Black women have started straightening their hair, perhaps to imitate what they have been told is beautiful? Ladies (in general) just be careful with this new found power you have, so the world can see that you are doing something different than your counterpart (man) that has torn at your self-esteem all these centuries.
I am not sure of how many people have come here and tried to remind humanity of what their abilities really are. I myself am nothing and everything; my physical existence is based only on the fact that you are reading this or you have made contact with me. If the whole world can be aware of my physical existence through vision and interaction, it could mean that I am only a small portion of your consciousness and that I should be thanking you not god.
All people should be questioning their slice of reality to determine its specific purpose. Who is the greatest beneficiary of your work? Are you being fairly compensated for your contribution to the system with which you work under? Is forty hours plus overtime really worth it? The only two things of real value in life are the Self and time/space. The slave/common worker has compromised both in order to sustain an artificial (possible attainment of private property) way of being without. They mostly believe that they should earn their living as oppose to a rite of passage (deserved by all humans). Life is achieved through awareness, so honor and respect towards one another can lead to order. One way to be everywhere at once is get to know as many people on this Earth as you can. Staying in contact will give you all omnipresence. Talk amongst the Earthlings is the key ingredient to rising above the oppressor (mostly self). The feelings you have towards yourself fluctuate at certain times of your life because of outside influence. All I can say is take back your existence. That can be done by simply saying fuck it. The patriotism towards punching a clock for credits in order to sustain the idea of a descent living is insane.
Tech Me All Away
Even with all the technological advancements of today and cheaper means of production, over the years electricity sure has gotten expensive. Living in these city/states electricity has become as much of a necessity as water. Scientific discoveries and medical breakthroughs are blessings from man to man, and both are being traded/exchanged or sold at outrageous prices (some not involving money) across the world making scientific advancement the working man’s unconscious nightmare. Putting a value on every aspect of life, fees for eating, sleeping, medical aid and learning. The more advanced our society becomes the more we pay. With the new and improved equipment being used by medical industry there comes a new price tag. The term proper identification has been misconstrue d by our own governments in order to prevent foreigners from making a taxable living. Some people see it as a form of job security and national security while others say it’s flat out discrimination. The insecurities of mankind about their purpose and ability manifest itself in reality through technology. There has got to be a better way in one’s life.
When I was in high school to be a pimp or gangster meant something. All these young minds were warped by visions of becoming big time drug dealers. The only way that I planned on making money was by taking advantage of the weaker minded adults with habits large enough to keep me looking clean. Never mind the fact that my older brother and I shared the same bed for about two years. I come from what society refers to as a broken home. I was always very smart in school and that was dangerous because I would argue with teachers about their so called facts. It also made me feel good to be able to solve math problems without using a calculator or showing how I got the answer. Everyone loved to copy my paper. Seems like, as a child, whenever you feel good about doing something or yourself; someone is always there to bring you down. It was unfair for a teacher to change the rules of the curriculum because a particular student does things differently. To have a student sitting next to the teacher to be assured of no cheating is understood the first time it happens, but any time after that you have insulted the student and his/her intelligence. I eventually became tired of it and stopped showing up for class as often. My mentality changed (FUCK SCHOOL) all together, I would show up enough to get by with C’s and D’s, and eventually graduate.
THE KEY THING TO REMEMBER HERE IS THAT GRADES DO NOT SHOW THE STUDENTS LEVEL OF INTELLIGENCE, THEY REFLECT INSTRUCTORS ABILITY TO TEACH.
I still remember the first time I made a profit off the tricks of a woman; all I recall saying to myself is, why is she doing this? Eventually, I found myself looking for things in my own life that were synonymous with the lyrics of gangster rap and television. So to a degree my mind was already taking in what and who I was surrounded by in terms of my peers and the older generation. Parental guidance was a joke if you were poor because parents have to go to work (can’t afford to miss a day) no matter what is happening in your life, no parent wants to be getting calls at work every week about the progress of their children whether good or bad. Not to mention the fact that a lot of parents intentionally steer their children away from activities that require the most of their time and money. Some parents in all truths are just fucking lazy and can’t wait for the moment to send this child off to be with someone else. Many kids my age were forced into parental roles because of parents not having the time for us or the siblings that kept popping up.
I am here to say that I did not learn about drugs and the harmful effects through school or my parents. Television shaped and molded my idea of drug abuse, sex, and morality. Entertainment has screwed the minds of the young and old alike. People out there that question nothing will accept everything told or shown to them as law. You can thank the networks for that. There are some issues in life that require some soul searching to take place in order to obtain a truth. Soul searching can be used to determine if what you want is genuine or a phase stimulated by advertisers, parents, religion, sex, etc. I say this because it’s the reason why I was able to unlearn the bullshit taught by television and school. It is a very useful tool in decision making, especially when ones future is at stake. I recommend that we all do some soul searching at the end of the day. Remember to cut the TV off while doing it.
You Did This To Me
What should we be paying so close attention to in our lives that calls for these many forms of entertainment? I am one of those people that believe that the television and radio are forms of brainwashing. Proof of televisions effect on the mind is shown in sales. Advertisers make their money off the people’s inability to think for themselves. You don’t wake up needing a waffle iron someone may have made it appeal to you in the form of sex, irony or the use of the jingle. Take a look at how much one minute of air time during particular sporting events cost. That minute must be pretty influential since advertisers are trying to bid each other out for this certain point in time.
Seasonal holidays, sporting events, and celebrations of historical moments are all a part of the American culture. They help secure patriotism and Christian values in the people. Adults feed this nonsense to the children in order to season the reality that awaits them in the future. Life is not all peaches and cream, not even for the rich; we all have our struggles to deal with while taking every opportunity available to view the other side of life with wonder. I see parents becoming upset with their children because they feel that kids have no business lying. As adults we all know that it’s very hypocritical of us. Even as a man I still don’t understand why they sold false realities to us (generation Y). There is no excuse for not telling the truth to children whom you expect to be truthful to you. All of you demand of your children the respect that a slave/property you own would give. I’ve met some shitty parents in my time and all I can say now is that you people disgust me. My generation was exposed to the, “you better do it” or “the even if I am wrong I’m right”. Telling a person what to do without regard for their opinion or feelings takes no backbone. I’ve come to know that for a fact what I’ve always thought was true about adults; they are stupid. Parenting is not a job and you are not the boss, (you are the provider of sustenance and information, some of you can’t do that right) it should be your LIFE when the time comes.
How many of you have children that attend camps for random activities? Why can’t you teach your own children? You need to be aware of the children and adults that surround your child. Parents don’t spend half as much time with their children as the teachers. Everyone in the world is telling this child what to think except for the people that matter. Any idiot can cook, clothe, and feed a child, but it takes a special person to teach them. These kids are going crazy because of the lack of attention being paid to them at home. How ironic is it to not mind a child’s activities for five years and then suddenly decide that he/she needs some direction? The direction that the child will run is right out the door. Maybe if you spent a little more time understanding them the tension that exist between the parent and child would not exist today. Accept them for who they are now and let them know that it’s ok. Don’t go burning bridges with the only person that may end up taking care of you in the future. Just be open-minded and remember that it is their job to go a little bit further than you.
Any baby walking this planet can become anything they want as long as they have their parent’s permission. Very seldom do we as adults give children credit for what they are capable of knowing and being. Even I question my existence to a degree whenever I hear someone say what they want to be. I remember teachers asking me what I would like to be when I get older as if I am nothing now. Some of us are in love with the idea of being the boss; the sad part about it is that being called the boss can make you feel like you are really the boss. I say it is sad because the boss’s position is only a period in time; there is no forever in being the boss. Being the I AM is forever and having respect for all entities in existence should be on minds of all Earths creatures. Me, Myself, and I are all acceptable forms of being. If you decide to be yourself then believe in and know yourself before attempting to transcend (become) into something else in life, remember anything is possible through abstract thinking. You may not understand it right away, but with a little self hypnotism you and the generations after you could become the example of all examples for a change of thinking (beliefs/faith) worldwide.
Adults are concerned with the violent crimes that children have been committing lately and no one seems to say anything relating television to the violence in minds of the youth. Good guys no longer wear white in movies. Hollowood has found a way to make people see the good in the ability to kill a couple of people, have a little bit of sex with a stranger, and then go home to your spouse. If the television can make an adult think their life is empty through advertisement, just imagine what this same device is doing to someone who has not had their mind very long. Movies/television have generated a lot of money for this economy and will continue to do so at the expense of the sons and daughters brainwashed off this bullshit. If you listen hard enough to the young you can even hear the young Hispanic, Asian, and White boys singing about how hard it is to be a real nigga in the street.
It’s Not Always True
Somebody is going around telling black people that speaking correct English is the same as “Talking White”. How did they come under the impression that all whites speak proper English? It’s along the same lines as when someone on television makes statements about the African American progress in education and home life. We don’t all think and act the same; we are only capable of the same actions. Just like all whites aren’t racist, but are capable of being it. We’ve all got some stereotypical behavior about our person. It’s not meant to be insulting, it’s just an observation that has a tendency to be misinterpreted.
Diversity Sucks
I don’t see many people bringing up the fact that iron chains were taken off some of the Negro race in America, and while everyone was asleep somebody manage to slip mental chains onto the brains of all Americans. Once upon a time you ate, slept, and bred with your own kind (there’s nothing racist about that). You may have traded with other groups for things beneficial to your particular group, but that was it. Thanks to colonialism and cultural diversity you now have a different type of hate, the kind that boils deep inside of words like segregation, discrimination, affirmative action, civil rights, and so on.
It is no longer PC to refer to them as spics, chanks, and niggers. Some white people have no problem with blacks until being associating with owning a slave or being racist. However, I have also met whites that smile with pride when reminiscing about the slave trade, and from what I understand the reason why is similar to the teachers’ relationship with the student. If I read my masters book then I share my masters’ brain. The problem for Blacks is that their books and brains make us stupid. So let’s all collectively make a change of thinking to lead us to empowerment over the system and ourselves.
