Guidelines to giving it another try.

getting back out there after a break-up may seem difficult but this fear shouldn't hold you back. This is just a guide to help you out. the rest is up to you.

Don't Be Scurred

You're not tied down any more. You probably talked about the old ball and chain, whether you were married or not and now you’ve been set free. You went through being devastated or in the least crushed and now it’s time to get back in the game. The game of life and all that consists of but something is making this really hard. It’s something inside of you that is holding you back. Some people move on quick and many times while they are in the middle of a current relationship. But your not at that point in your life and you need some help. Hopefully this can help if only partly with your dilemma. These guidelines are here to encourage and to help you get back out there because the world at times can be beautiful and we all need someone to share those times with. And yeah, we need someone for those other times too.

An army of one? Everyone has been hurt at one time or another. Many are anxious, sometimes even resistant to getting to know new people and letting them into their lives. What you have to understand is that the way you are feeling now is normal. At some point in our lives we have all felt that way. Right now you may feel insecure but that person you're interested probably feels that same way too. If you don't have insecurities, raise your hands....no one should be raising their hands and if there are they're lying. There is enough self-doubting in the world that everyone atleast has one.

Slipped on that banana peel, did you? No one is perfect. You will make mistakes you may be clumsy but your just getting into the groove of things again. Really, we are all just looking for someone to accept us for who we are, ticks, drama and all. Don’t down yourself, you are the someone that someone is looking for. To some those faults are adoring or in the least not as a big deal as you are making it out to be.

Get out there.. Don’t just sit on the couch watching tv or playing video games and expect that someone just right for you is going to knock on your door and ask you out on a date. That’s not realistic and really only happens in the movies. Get off of the couch and get into the real world. Go do something. Stop punishing yourself and allow yourself to interact with people other than the normal people of convenience. Try new activities try and diversify your life if at all possible. It may be kind of slow at first but don’t just limit yourself to the first you meet either unless they are that special to you. Allow yourself to approach those people you thought would never give you a second look (just look at Janet and Jermaine).

More rejection. Yea, you’ll begin dating all over again and will be rejected. You're probably already at that point of thinking that you will never meet the perfect person. The only thing you should be worried about it is meeting that special person for you. No one is perfect and you should know first hand. So, yea you’ll go on some bad horrific dates but also you’ll go on some pretty decent one. The fact that you’re getting out there is the right marker that will tell you that your growing as a person. Nothing ever works out as you plan but that should make you give up hope. Don’t be that old woman/man with the hundred cats because your scared and think that you’ll never find that perfect person because your last relationships did lead to a happy ending, be that old woman/man with the hundred cats because that is your life long dream.

So don't be scurred.......
