R. D. Sadok’s Smart Vaccine opens as Charles Lanier, Pharmaceutical researcher contemplates a vial of ‘wonder drug.’ It is not something he has been working on, rather, SV-136 is the culmination of the work carried out by Lanier’s fellow researcher.
Charles chafed as honor and prestige were lauded upon Jon Randall, and, despite any possible danger in using some of the SV-136 upon himself Charles Lanier now sent the powerful substance into his own vein thus setting into motion a series of events he had never considered.
Sadok’s riveting narrative carries the reader along on a wild ride filled with hope, and despair, jealousy, deceit, kidnapping, and lively writing in this narrative filled with intriguing premise, newsworthy well-fleshed characters, dialogue that is gritty at times, situations fraught with danger and detailed setting designed to pull the reader interest into the narrative and hold it fast from opening lines to last paragraphs.
Jon Randall is delighted that his SV-136 seemed to have worked a true miracle and returned a beloved family member to those he loved but had forgotten.
Charles Lanier’s jealousy drives him to steal some of the precious medicine, falsify video tapes to shift blame from himself to another, and join a mobster in an effort to peddle the drug for more money than he had ever thought he might have to enjoy.
The narrative moves quickly from Jon and his bride-to-be Rachel delighting in the success of SV-136 and the wonderful results and hope it would bring for those suffering from Alzheimer disease to Charles and the worry filled circumstances he finds himself facing following his trying out the medication meant to restore brain function for Alzheimer patients upon himself to test the sentiment that a non impaired brain might be made even stronger and perhaps smarter.
Charles believes he has covered his tracks well, strikes a deal with a man he believes to be a rival Pharmaceutical company, soon discovers that he has gotten himself involved in something far more dangerous than he ever thought possible, makes good an escape, finds himself far from his home in California, on the East Coast with no money, cold and hungry before turning to a homeless shelter where he finds safety, comfort and a closeness with God that he has
never known before.
Smart Vaccine is a well written work in which a complex tale tenanted with persuasive motivations, well showcases Sadok’s adeptness for presenting the human situation coupled with his descriptive narrative. His is a narrative meant to draw the reader right into the tale through having skilfully interlinking story lines. The interlinking story lines do serve to keep readers absorbed and turning the pages as they meet the fascinating characters fleshing Sadok’s disciplined text.
Created with adroitness Smart Vaccine presents a complex suspense packed plot as the foundation for the work presenting credible dubiety, and heart stopping near misses along with a thought-provoking outcome.
In this masterfully engineered suspense filled narrative; teeming with strife satisfactorily resolved, characters come to life under the penning of wordsmith Sadok. The ‘good’ guys are very good, and the mobsters are truly horrible. Interest is maintained during a breathtaking rush throughout the work. filled with more their share of angst, twists, treachery as well as enigmatic circumstances before coming together as one persuasive read.
Dialogue presented adds a disarming sense of drama and added dimension to the tale through use of hard hitting, gritty, non profane, weighty and powerful vocabulary.
Settings complete with enough detail enable readers to form mental imagery help to maintain reader interest.
While Sadok’s bio mentions he is writing novels with a Christian outlook he accomplishes his goal without coming across as preachy.
We who enjoy powerful thrillers can only hope R D Sadok is hard at work on the next, and many more novels are soon forthcoming.. Gripping Read … Happy to Recommend … 4 stars
