"No Landon, it's not your job! Let the police handle it. You could get killed and I just can't live without you in my life. Let's just get on the Harley and ride out of this place, please! Let's just go on to Vegas, get married and let the police handle this," she sobbed as she buried her face in her pillow.

      Landon wished that they could just walk away and never have to worry about Road Dog again, but he knew they couldn't do that.   "Can't you see that I can't do that? I just can't walk away from this! I'm the one he wants. I started this way back when I was a kid, when I made his brother snap. If we leave, he will just leave. He will follow us and keep on following us, until he gets the chance to kill us. At least doing it this way, we both have a good chance of walking away and going on with our lives," he told her pausing, to let what he said sink in. "I love you more than anything else on this planet. You are my world. I don't want to see you get hurt, anymore than you want to see me get hurt. I have thought about this every second since you came to the hospital yesterday. I realized that I would have to stop this guy before he killed me, or worse, killed you. As long as he is alive and on the street, he will not stop hunting me. All those people he has hurt and killed because he was after me....." he said, his voice drifting off.

       ............Landon felt like he was on the edge of the planet, fixing to fall off. He was exhausted and living a nightmare that only he could end. His mind was being pushed to the limit of his own sanity.
