PRLog (Press Release) – Nov 22, 2008 – Love, Not Love is Ame Ai's first book. Poems in her first book are separated into two categories: what is love and what is not love. Ai had the idea for this book because she had recently broken up with someone she thought she was going to live her life with forever. The realization that she was not in love and was not love was a huge disappointment to her since they had been together for several years. Soon after, she fell in love again, but she wanted to make sure that what they had was true so that she would not be setting herself up for disappointment. She spent a lot of time talking with friends, family, and acquaintances about the definition of love. When she started to apply what she learned to her own experiences, she began with defining what love is not, then proceeded to define what love is.
