A practical guide for WHEN the zombies come.

So, you've found yourself in that horror of horror situation and can't separate the good zombie movies from the jumble of information you've beed fed over the years of cult zombie movies. But now it's all happening in front of your eyes and you have seconds to make the right choices; what do you do? It could be the choice between life and death.

First of all: Stockpile any weapons you can lay your hands on. The bigger and heavier, the better, as many theories suggest destroying the brain should stop them. Disconnecting the head is another good way to tackle zombies.

But what if they're too fast? You might not have time to get them in the head before you're bitten, and if you don't live in the US, shotguns can be a bit harder to come across, so you need to find a good place to hide.

You need to find somewhere secure with plenty of supplies; a secure warehouse can be good, a pub/restaurant or perhaps a top floor flat with security doors and a private hall. If you're lucky enough to live in one of those, don't let anyone in! People equal risk, so unless you're particularly fond of them, it's every man for himself.

Wherever you choose to hide, it's always a good idea to lie low and once you've found somewhere safe (and if you're still alive, it must be safe enough) then DON'T MOVE! Stay where you are unless you absolutely have to. Don't shine torches or make a huge amount of noise, attracting unwanted attention to your area.

Do NOT let your guard down, no matter how safe you think you are. Unless those zombies are all vanquished, it is NOT safe! It is not okay to go sunbathing or - if you're hiding in a pub - drink beer until you pass out. That's when they get you.

Together we can survive, WHEN the zombies come!
