The Way of the Future

Ah yes, the future, the famous future. Is there anyone on this planet who does not have some idea about the future? Is there anyone who has a clear idea what "future" means?
There is a growing number who think the future is whatever life you manage to scrape out of whatever days you have remaining on this lopsided globe of a world. That isn't much considering one has no control over any of it. Retirement with a pension may seem a good thing, until it actually happens. If cancer or a heart attack doesn't get you, inflation, fees, cutbacks and higher taxes certainly will. When you die the vultures flock in.
There is a dwindling number who think the future is in God's hands. If you believe in the correct dogma attached to the correct "God" - then you go to a heaven prepared especially for you. Taylor-made, you might say. The rest go to hell, which if you analyze this properly, means they go to their heaven, and your heaven is their hell. That isn't much either considering you aren't allowed even a tiny glimpse into what that "hell-heaven" is going to be like. Basically you are flying blind here. I always thought that a dangerous and foolhardy exercise. Not just for yourself, but for those you crash-land upon.
There are those who believe the future is in the hands of benevolent aliens who right now are orbiting the earth in cloaked ships, waiting for the master signal to come down and rescue humanity from itself. These magnificent benevolences are madly in love with earth and its humans and just can't wait to hug each and every one of them and assure them they are all "beloved."
What's wrong with all of that? The underpinning belief system. The faith necessary to maintain the illusion. The hope springing eternal in the human breast that fuels these systems. The blindness to Earthian reality it causes. The mortgaging of the "present" and deliberate forgetting of the past to invest in "futures" that pay such poor dividends.
"Believe all things; believe in nothing." Teachings of YLea of the WindWalkers. From her and other self-empowered Avatars I learned to let go of a future manufactured by vested interest to go in search of my own. Using my own common sense and logic for a start.
I walked away, first, from the Catholic Church, even though some of what I learned there remains extremely valuable to me in my current quest.
I walked away from the trap of the atheist/hedonist whose future ends with the body's last breath, chasing after money or lovers, hanging on to those toys, hoping to be the one who dies with the most in hand. That was simply too couch potato for me, too brain-dead.
I walked away from the political arena. Lies without end, amen!
I walked away from the "evangelical" side of Christianity. It barely needs to be said that having endured, tasted, tried and tested two aspects on one of earth's mega religions, I did not need to do the same with the others. History has shown they all trade on the same stock exchange. Their God and CEO, after all, is a jealous God. Trading on the competitor's exchange could trigger one of those psychotic fits and bring about another attempt at genocide. Tread lightly here, if you are a believer.
Finally I walked away from the New Agey porridge of pseudo-science fiction, neo-paganism and tattered remnants of various religious cults to divinities, angels, saints, "ascended masters" and a colourful variety of aliens such as the infamous "grays" and the reptilians for example. Frankly I did not see any improvement in lifestyle despite the mountains of books, tapes, CD's and cutesy movies it gave rise to. 'Nough said.
So, that's a lot of walking away from. But what was I walking towards? I was taught by the Avatars that you can never let go of a thing until you have replaced it in your mind and heart with another you are more passionate about; another that serves your needs (or desires) better. Well, there's a truism! None of the above succeeded even remotely to sate my hunger for knowledge and understanding, or knowing. None quenched my thirst for truth, if there is even such a thing (in the absolute sense, I mean). But I could not get away from them until I found something undeniably better.
Nothing is impossible. There is always something better because if it does not exist we have the imagination to create it and we possess the power in fortitude and courage to make it so. We can go where no one has gone before. In fact if we are not doing so, we are the living dead, the slaves of old systems that exploit and oppress at will. If we are not creating our future we are at the mercy of predators.
So what did I find? I found what "responsibility" and "independence" and "self-empowerment" and "freedom" and "compassion" and "love" were meant to mean.
Responsibility: If something is wrong, it's up to me to fix it. How? That's what creativity is for.
Independence: There is no spiritual or mental evolution within dependency. I am no longer dependent on divinities or other "masters" for my life. My "contract" is with life. I have no soul - that implant Earthians are so fond of that ties them to the Powers, Authorities and Spiritual Forces in the "heavenly realms"...
Self-empowerment goes with Freedom: I choose every aspect of my life and take responsibility for every thought, word and deed.
Compassion: I understand now there is but One Law: You shall cause no harm to come to life. And this brings me to Love. For only by being in love can one know. And one can only be in love through compassion. All other "inloveness" is a chimera.
The above is to be understood within the context of infinite potential. Only when one lives beyond every boundary, every "Thou Shalt Not"; every belief system, every tradition and all time-bound reasoning can one transmute all of it into joy.
Not terribly well stated, is it? Still, I hope it is understandable to you, if you happen to be wondering and looking under the fence.

I respond: Within myself I find "future" to be not just a time, but a new mind-set of space and self, a continuance of what I have been and what I learn anew; above all how I think, respond, and accept/reject the energy force about me.

We need to believe in ourselves, and not in any religion or government or master. I believe that the only way to empower ourselves against evil is not to follow anyone or anything else but
ourselves. Good and evil exist within us and without us, and our conscience is our internal guide to the good, It is the only unbiased
guide we could possibly have except for a true soulmate. I do believe evil can be transmuted into joy, with loving, caring and compassion. Interesting article.

I love that statement, Bravo! Great article and believe me, I know how difficult it can be to share spiritual experience through the trappings of our petty language with all of our icons and symbols that actually don't mean the same thing to everyone anyway.
