How ignorant a man can become on a diet of managed history! (The Eyes of Heisenberg – Frank Herbert)
I could say, here and now, that earth is truly a miserable place. But from what evidence? Against what evidence to the contrary? An interesting question that reveals much about the state of things here. Evidence. There is no evidence, for or against, for anything at all. There is the physical environment, but that “changes” with each bit of technology added to the search for data. What was true yesterday is no longer true today. Then there is history – man’s famous history. But what is that? Can we really rely on history as evidence of a past we otherwise are told we can know nothing about? It has been said, and I have certainly seen it here, in Canada, that history is written by the victors. Well, the aboriginal peoples of Canada have no written history, so their place in the history books is determined by those who conquered them: first, the French, then the English. Then the rest of the colonizers.
When I first studied Canadian history, it was from French Canadian texts. That history was written from the Quebec perspective and it was to quickly change when I entered the English education system and learned Canadian history from that side. Villains of yore were now heroes, and previous heroes were now the villains. And the aboriginals? Well, a few appeared in fictionalized accounts in stories, documentaries and movies. Otherwise they were barely a pale shadow behind the “real” events.
So now the aboriginals of Canada are busy attempting to create for themselves various written languages and some kind of history based on… what? Stories half remembered; fables; tales. Basically fiction. No different in that respect than my own people, the Celts. They have no real history either, apart from the many tales each group dragged through the centuries and millennia. Names of gods and heroes; of battles, wars, alliances and betrayal. Who are the Celts? Who are anybody, any racial group?
To answer, we would have to have a complete record of our beginnings, a complete and unabridged “diary” of all the movements of all the different races from the beginning. Such a record would tell us whether we began, as created beings, one man, one woman. Or, we evolved out of the muck and mire of the ocean and land, developing helter-skelter as we struggled to survive on a land surface that was basically inimical to our type of life. Hence we became fighters, survivors, clinging together in closed groups to fend off predators, some of which would be our own kind. Thus we evolved until we created large communes we call nations today. At heart we remain fearful survivors, ready to attack and defend at the snap of a finger.
Those are the two main tales being told today, the others not having found favour with the system as yet, ideas such as the intervention, in a very recent past, of aliens who basically cloned “us” to work for them, to provide labour and support in times of their internecine warfare. That of course would go a long way to explain the different races… but it scares the leaders and they won’t let “us” go there, except perhaps in fiction because after all, fiction is not history, and history is the truth, because the system says so and it is taught in the schools.
So I ask myself, how can man ever decide how he should act and react, to other people, or to any kind of event he cannot control? How should man view a natural disaster, for example? Or an attack on his country, or the decision by his country to invade another? What mindset should he put himself in to engage such things intelligently rather than emotionally? It’s impossible for man to understand the great events because he cannot know who he is, or how he should interact with his environment. He cannot answer the question because he dare not formulate the question in the first place. So it is God, or the gods, or the rulers, leaders, authorities, who answer the questions, and man, stupid man, goes along with this or that belief, stirred by inflammatory speeches or “The News” as is the case today. Now, when I say God, or the gods, answering questions, what I mean is, it is those who pretend to speak for God, or the gods, who give the answers, men who provide the words to the speeches on the divine teleprompter.
So we have an irresolvable problem: we do not know who we are, nor whether we have a purpose or are just fodder in the passage of time, for most, born to struggle and suffer and die after a few short meaningless years, living just long enough to ensure the perpetuation of the pointless madness: a progeny faced with decreasing options and depleted resources.
How many ask, “What’s the point?”
As the Scot would say, “Damned few, and they’re all dead.”
Why don’t people, intelligent people, ask themselves, what’s the point, and quit? Because overriding the intelligence is the programming, the biological imperative: be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth. It’s there, in the genes. It was the only way the creators could ensure that their shaky investment in the cloned beings would succeed and grow.
Long, long after that “command” lost every reason to push the people to multiply and literally cover over the planet, it continues to do its work, and man has yet to realize this. He has yet to understand that he is meant to overcome the imperative with common sense, logic and intelligence. He can override his programming, of course, he’s not just a computer. He has developed a mind with which to tackle the “puzzle” of himself.
But he won’t. His system tells him he can’t, or he shouldn’t. “You are what you eat.” say the evolutionists. “When God ordains a thing it cannot be changed by man.” say the creationists. Alternative viewpoints not allowed. All of man’s history is managed. What is missing is deliberately so. Most of the rest is official fiction, i.e., The Truth.
