So many Christians have heard the story about Jonah and the Whale. However, scientists believe the story is false because a whale’s throat (or stomach) is too small to swallow a human. Well, Christians, scientists are 100% correct.

So many Christians have heard the story about Jonah and the Whale. However, scientists believe the story is false because a whale’s throat (or stomach) is too small to swallow a human. Well, Christians, scientists are 100% correct. The bible never says Jonah was swallowed by a whale, but by a big fish (Jonah 1:17). And unless you were sleeping in biology class you should know that whales are NOT fish. Whales are sea mammals. A mammal is a creature that feeds their young milk. Yes, whales are in the water, but they feed their babies milk just like cows and humans (whale milk in your cereal anyone?). So therefore, Jonah could NOT have been eaten by a whale. So, which big fish was it? The bible doesn’t specify so we don’t know. But we know it was not a whale or dolphin (dolphins are sea mammals as well), nor was it Jaws (he wasn’t born yet); the only thing we know is that it was a fish and it was big.

The Jonah story is probably an allegory or parable using people's general lack of knowledge at that time to prove a point and to teach young people to fear one thing or another. I don't think the story was ever meant to be literally taken as true.
