All things created/manufactured seemingly exist with intended purpose. Those who believe in creation would undoubtedly support this claim. After all, why create without reason? To do so would be nothing more than wasted creation. Point being? I want to expound on the “purpose” behind the creation of Christianity (this same argument could essentially be applied to all religion; However, my focal point will be Christianity -for arguments sake). I believe there are three primary “purposes,” as well as three separate benefactors with regard to Christianity.

 

Harmonious coexistence is essential to quality of life. Laws are put into place to ensure moral behavior is honored. Unfortunately, there is only so much that can be enforced by law. Laws exist, yet are broken with utter regularity. With the introduction of Christianity (and its good moral values) this ultimately acts as a “long arm of the law.” Results of heinous actions can lead to more than just a jail cell. Eternal damnation awaits those unsaved souls that act out against God’s children. It is “control by thought” at it’s finest. Loss of freedom is one thing, but to burn in the bowels of hell, now that is worth fearing (Hence the phrases “God fearing man” and “Fear of God”). In history, Christianity served as a vital component in the assurance of moral values and living (and served its purpose quite well). The values Christianity is noted for has been crucial in societal morale. (Christianity purpose: 1. Morale with society as its benefactor)

 

Analytical minds have been around since the beginning of time. Those who consume thought the likes of relativity with regard to existence have certainly been baffled as long as the annals of time have been recorded. To compare one’s life/existence/relativity with that of a spec of sand in a large desert is humbling in the least. In relation to time (which is infinite), mankind -in and of itself- is but a nanosecond of cosmic existence. Even the most notable of individuals (and their accomplishments) time span is measured in years; considering time is never-ending (infinite), this idea can be overwhelming for the analyst. To conclude on point, these analytical minds had to come to terms with human relativity. If they were to conclude that their brief presence on earth is nothing more than happenstance (pointless), how does one muster the desire to not only live, but live with purpose (achieve goals; succeed)? Christianity’s promise of eternal life, comforts the mind and soothes the uneasy pain of worthlessness/unimportance (even if just briefly); thus establishing purposeful life. By far and away the most disturbing purpose behind Christianity is its promotion in hopes of self-destruction. In a modern civilized society, nature’s intended selection of “survival of the fittest” has become obsolete. The weakest links can outlive its most dominant counterpart. With the allowance of weak genetics to pass on, a people become infected with weakness (most notably mental weakness). In earlier times, these inferiors would have succumbed to nature’s demands and all but ceased to exist (ensuring the evolution of only the elite within the species). The powers that be (or those who desire such) have utilized all the available tools in order to conquer. The most ingenious of these tools is the introduction of “memes” (the spread of thought from mind to mind like a virus). Memes infect the mind and spread rapidly just as the viruses they are (fertilized propaganda with consequence). With this spread comes the introduction of self-hate, ignorance, and illogical thought. Through these catastrophic, unnatural circumstances (forgiveness for destructive and/or inhumane acts) the seed of domination is planted for those with dominatory purposes by using Christianity (and its love thy neighbor morale) as its meal ticket. It is in the nature of mankind to be defensive/aggressive on physical levels if provoked. Christianity, on the contrary, preaches turn the other cheek, prayer, love your enemy, and forgiveness. By the infectious spread of the Christianity meme, the conquering of a people is unnecessary, for they have conquered themselves. (Christianity purpose: 3.
