Since retiring from my job I’ve become a self-employed music historian.
The hours are long and I don’t get paid anything, but at least I enjoy the work.


Of all the playlists I have created, Country/Rock has become my favorite. I listen to it all the time, and I'm
constantly tweaking it to make sure it's the perfect mixture of Country and Rock, fun songs and sad songs.
My Spotify description for it says: "Americana, Folk, Bluegrass, Rockabilly, Classic Country, Country Pop,
Country Rock, Southern Rock, and Countryish Songs by Rock & Roll Artists". But it also includes many of
my Local and Indie favorites that aren't really Country but fit well in the collection.

I recently created a new playlist called "ROCK & ROLL"
for when I'm more in the mood for Rock than Country.
It has 1,000 songs in it, and its description says: "A large variety of
Classic Rock, Modern Rock, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, R&B, Soul, and Funk."
When played in shuffle mode, it is the Ultimate Classic Rock Radio Station.

My new "ROCK & ROLL" playlist inspired me to dig deeper
and create a New series of playlists that present the History of Rock & Roll:
"50's ROCK!", "60's ROCK!", "70's ROCK!", "80's ROCK!", "90's ROCK!".
(My Ultimate Radio Stations when played in shuffle mode.)
I may eventually get around to creating "Modern ROCK!".

I created another new playlist.
It's called "Classic Albums" and that's what it's all about.
Four songs each from some of the greatest albums ever made.
The albums are in the order they were released, from Frank Sinatra's
"Songs For Swingin' Lovers" (1956) to David Bowie's "Blackstar" (2016).
