Taking care of you is very important. Just as it is important to eat healthy foods to protect and support your body, it’ s also important to manage your social life in order to protect and support your heart. At all costs, you are ultimately responsible for guarding your heart. You are responsible for what goes in and comes out of your heart. Who and what you let in can change your life forever, and that’s good and bad.
My ex-husband used me for his advantage. When he got depressed and lonely, he would come over to my house to be with me. While he would be there, he would give me the impression that he missed me and that we were working things out. But once he left, I wouldn’t hear from him for days. I would finally go over to his house, only to find him spending time with other women. When I would confront him for his actions towards me, he would get defensive and say mean things to me in front of the other women. After toiling with him, in attempt to get him to see and understand what he was doing to me, I would leave his house in tears with a broken heart. It didn’t just happen once. It repeatedly happened, as many times as I allowed it.
Through constant prayer, I began to see myself as God saw me. Not only was I a child of God, I was beautiful, intelligent, wise, anointed, and loved. I had to realize I was valuable to God and mankind. So, I began telling God exactly what I wanted. I was specific in details and left no boxes unchecked. I said what I wanted and wanted exactly what I said. I understood how much I was worth. I deserved to be happy and prosperous as God promised. I didn’t have to settle for anything else.
What do you want? What do you deserve? Do you deserve to have the best, be with the best, and go to the best places? Of course you do! You’re worth it all. Now go for it. Take that class, go back to school, end that bad relationship, buy that dress, get that suit off lay-a-way, order that meal, open that wine, or purchase that car. You’re worth it all.
There are too many people who have let their lives pass by because they failed to make the best of it. Whether too busy to enjoy it or have it controlled by someone else, they never got the things they wanted. Everyday of their life was spent wishing, hoping and praying without putting action behind it. Not good!
It’s time to stop telling yourself what you can’t have. Far too many women stay in abusive relationships because they’ve come to believe they won’t be able to get anyone better. Even single women submit themselves to married men because they don’t value themselves enough to have an honest relationship with a man who would be faithful. Men go for broke to please their lady, afraid he would lose her to another man if he didn’t perform or buy her nice things. Why do they comply with such demands? They simply don’t believe they’re worth more.
It is God’s will that you be happy and set free. He desires the best for you; therefore your heart shouldn’t expect anything less. Love yourself first. Give yourself the best first. Be content with yourself and understand who you are and find out why you’re here. That’s your measuring scale. Whoever and whatever must measure up to what you give yourself in order to play a part in your life. Anything less becomes disqualified. It’s just that simple.
When you love yourself and be a blessing to yourself, you will begin to attract strong and positive people in your world, such as yourself. You will become a role model to God’s finest and will be attracted to God’s best. You will be highly respected for your strength and ability to endure hardship in the face of adversity. You will be what you deserve and will see everything at face value.
Let someone else tell you you got it going on. And if you don’t got it going on, get it going. Enhance your surroundings with the best. Make your value change on a regular basis. Get the best because you are the best and let nothing but the best come in. Period.
Fine writing.
