Over the roof........

Here I am again. The bible boy. As you all know, the bible is the undisputed champion of all other books. And that why I draw inspiration from it..........

One of the stories that has caught my fancy while I studied the legendary book, is the story of the invalid whose friends made sure he got to the great physician. himself for healing.

For me, what the friends of this man did, was almost as valuable and extremely loving to what the Saviour did for the whole world by the reason of his death and resurrection.

As I pulled through this story in Mark 2, the Spirit brought the following hidden facts:

ITS NOT THE NUMBER OF FRIENDS THAT DETERMINE SUCCESS, OR A SUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIP, BUT THE KIND OF FRIEND

Definitely, the man must have had more friends. And the question tingled my mind. Where were the members of his family? They were no where to be found. So at times, there are people who would stick to you no matter what, even more than your family would. Out of many friends, it took only four loyal and devoted friends - true friends, to take the paraplegic man over the roof, into the room where he got the healing he could never forget. Hitler had many followers that didn't make any impact. Jesus had only twelve, that moved mountains, and form the basis of our faith today.

What kind of friends do you harbour? Would they take you over the roof or they'd bury you in the abyss with all it takes?

THE CROWD COULDN'T HINDER THEM.

Lots of people needed the same things this man needed. There were possibilities that some would miss the chance to meet the Lord that day due to the crowd. Even those who had gotten to the venue before the paraplegic man would have gone back later than the man himself. So in life at times, the best is reserved for the last. The first to take off on the track my not claim the price. What obligations are before you? What goals do you have? What ideas ram themselves in your mind? Is any disability preventing you from achieving your goals?

All you need are purpose driven friends like you, who would pull you through the obstacles threatening your success.

THEY ALL HAD A COMMON GOAL

The four of them knew what they wanted. And that remained their major focus. The restoration of their friend. Many youths and even some adults don't have an idea of what they want for themselves in the next fifteen minutes, let alone five to fifteen years from the moment. Every human on earth has his preset goals and purpose of living. And that's the major secret that has to be unravelled. The difference between the famous and the unsung, is in determining or discovering the essence of their existence. The four men in the case study, were drunk with their goal. And that was the ministry of compassion.

Is your calling pertaining to welfare? Some have the calling of just making people happy. And that's why we have comedians that aid in putting smiles on people's faces. There are fantastic motivational speakers out there, who speak solutions to the challenges of people. You are created, going through your present challenges today, because someone out there needs your story as an inspiration to overcome their own challenges too.

And if you have discovered your calling, then you need partners to execute your dream. Remember!!! A tree can't make a forest. A drop of water can also not make an ocean.

THERE ARE TIMES WHEN FAMILY MAY NOT BE HELPFUL.

A lot of people believe that family can't betray them. Don't forget, that they are humans too. They have blood flowing through their veins. Don't neglect the most important people in your life. Never mistreat those that matter to you. They can be friends, and they can also be family. Always strike a balance. It was rather unfortunate, that the paraplegic man, never had a family that was passionate enough to ensure that a solution came to his condition.

For every aspiration, always remember that there are friends and family members who would believe on you. Detect them and draw your inspiration from them. And of course, never discard those who seem not to believe in your dreams. Let their actions make you, rather than break you.

ONE GOOD TURN DESERVES ANOTHER

Though not particularly stated in story, daily experiences reveal that as humans, most of us never forget the good people have done to us. And at the slightest opportunity we have, we repay. There are possibilities, that the sick man, must have done something so touching. Something indelible. And when he also had problems, they took it upon themselves to get a solution at all costs even if it meant taking him OVER THE ROOF!!! So be good to every one that comes your way. Don't frown wickedly at that beggar who solicits alms. People are of the terrible opinion that they can't help someone who seems to be physically fit and still begs.

People feign terrible conditions, to perpetuate their evil plans. That's why one needs to be filled with the Spirit, who reveals all things. However, the disabled should be helped, in whatever capacity of convenience. If you can't help them financially like they expect, just show sympathy and move on.

Treat people around you right. When you ascend the ladder of success, try to pull others up. Because the ladder might break one day, you'll definitely need those you pulled up to pull you up.

If your dream is to be a bread hawker, you definitely know your friend should be a bean hawker. Why? Bread and Beans goes together.

LOOK FOR THOSE FOUR FRIENDS THAT MATTER AND MAKE IMPACT, RATHER THAN THOSE FOUR THOUSAND FRIENDS WHO WOULD DO EVERYTHING TO BURRY YOU AND YOUR DREAMS.

Associate yourself with people who would take you OVER THE ROOF!!!
