Some of the worlds most famous killers had some strange things to say before being put to death. Their comments were just as weird as their criminal minds. Ted Bundy , the American serial killer who raped and killed an unknown number of women in the 1970’s was executed by electric chair on January 24, 1989. before his death he said: “I’d like you to give my love to my family and friends.” Peter Kurten, known as the “The Vampire of Dusseldorf,” thought to have killed nearly 60 people in Germany, raped, and drank the blood of at least one of his victims. He was executed by guillotine on July 2, 1931. His last words were: “Tell me. After my head has been chopped off, will I still be able to hear, at least for a moment, the sound of my own blood gushing from the stump of my neck? That would be a pleasure to end all pleasures.” Jimmy L. Glass was an American convicted murderer executed by the state of Louisiana. He is probably best known not for his crime, but as a petitioner in a Supreme Court case where he argued that executions by electrocution violate the eighth and fourteenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution are “cruel and unusual punishment”. He lost the case and was electrocuted on June 12, 1987 at the age of twenty-five. His last words were: “I’d rather be fishing“ Jeffrey Dahmer was known as the “Milwaukee Cannibal” after raping and killing 17 men and boys during the 1980’s. His murders involved cannibalism and necrophilia, as well as, preservation of body parts. Dahmer was convicted and sentenced to 16 life terms in prison. On November 28, 1994 he was beaten to death by a fellow inmate. His last words were: “I don’t care if I live or die. Go ahead and kill me.” Aileen Wuornos killed seven men between the years 1989 and 1990, and tried to convince the jury she was defending herself against rape. She was executed by lethal injection on October 9, 2002. Her last words were: “I’d just like to say I’m sailing with the rock, and I’ll be back like Independence Day, with Jesus, June 6th. Like the movie, big mother ship and all. I’ll be back.” Carl Panzram was an American serial killer, arsonist and burglar. He is known for his confession to his only friend, prison guard Henry Lesser where he confessed to 21 murders and to having sodomized over 1,000 males. Imprisoned a number of times, he was finally hanged for having murdered a prison employee at Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary in 1930. His last words were : “Hurry it up, you Hoosier bastard! I could hang a dozen men while you’re screwing around!” Gary Mark Gilmore was an American criminal who gained international notoriety for demanding the execution of his death sentence for two murders he committed in Utah. He was shot by firing squad. Ironically, his last words inspired Nike’s quote “Just Do It.” He said: “Let’s do it.” James D. French was an American criminal who was the last person executed under Oklahoma’s death penalty laws prior to Furman v. Georgia, which suspended capital punishment in America from 1972 until 1976. His last words were: “How’s this for a headline? French Fries.” Thomas J. Grasso was a 32-year-old male executed by lethal injection at Oklahoma State Penitentiary, McAlester, Oklahoma, USA, on March 20, 1995, for two murders. He had a long list for his last meal, including a can of Spaghetti O’s. His last words were “I did not get my SpaghettiOs, I got spaghetti. I want the press to know this.” Vincent Gutierrez, 28, was executed by lethal injection on March 28, 2007 in Huntsville, Texas for the carjacking murder of a 40-year-old man. Gutierrez, who was believed to have suffered from bipolar disorder, said good bye with a pinch of humor. His last words were: I do, I would like to tell everybody that I’m sorry about the situation that happened. My bad – everybody is here because of what happened. I’d like to thank everybody that’s been here through the years. The little kids overseas – they really changed me. Sister Doris, mom, brothers, sister, dad; I love ya’ll.
