This is a bear trap, or sometimes called a culvert trap. It is pulled behind a Division of Wildlife truck by a game warden to transport an injured, professionally tranquilized bear or other wild animal to an animal rehabilitation center, and for relocation back into the wild far away from human contact when it is time for release. I have seen many of these. I have written these types of scenes into my script 'The Life and Times of Sanders,' the film based on wildlife rehabilitators and celebrity environmentalists and preservationists the late singer John Denver and master illusionists Seigfried and Roy. It is a film about life, death, and near-death of both human and animal. I've found it encouraging to live life to its fullest in my mountain area where I have witnessed the wild and the rehabilitated. I am a former white wolf owner of twenty years where I rehabilitated myself through the seven arctic wolves I raised, the pack producing over 90 cubs throughout the years.
