Yesteryear/today's greatness Alive in Sweetwater's 'Sanders Mountain' sequel to 'The Life and Times of Sanders.'
Rita Coolidge is cast for the role of Tiponi White Bear. Sweetwater is cueing music from Coolidge's nowadays music trio, Walela, a group that consists of Rita's sister Priscilla and Priscilla's daughter Laura Satterfield as the third member. Four of the songs Sweetwater has chosen come from the album Walela (1997). 'Wash Your Spirit Clean' is key to a storyline in the film. Also cued in the script are 'Cherokee' 'Cherokee River' and 'Amazing Grace' sung in Cherokee.
Kris Kristofferson is cast for the role of Samuel Crow. It's a laid-back role. He carves wood figurines, a whittler. Might even ask him to write a song.
