I have a saying "Every day above ground is a good one." and "I've never seen a hearse with a u-haul." Many people find Christmas a sad time as they are flooded with memories of loved one no longer here. I tell them to remember they are only a prayer away and memories are not meant to make you sad but joyful for the times you had together.

Yesterday my wife and I were driving along with our grand daughter Ava in her car seat in the back. My wife asked Ava what she was looking at ? Ava said I see "Poppy" everywhere ! (I'm Poppy) My wife asked her how she could see Poppy everywhere? Ava replied because he lives in my heart ! Ava's 4 years old going on 60. So much wisdom in that one little statement.

That's why we never really lose our loved ones because they always live on in our hearts. As I prayed for all those people in Newtown I thought of what Ava had said and thanked God for giving us the ability to always keep our loved ones tucked safely in our hearts. There is nothing I can say to help those people have a Merry Christmas.Nothing anyone can say.Only time passing can ease a pain that never goes away but trust me when I say they have never and will never leave your heart and you have never and will never leave their heart.

We will never understand the complexities of this world. I have come to accept that. I just know life can only be lived one day at a time and time with loved ones is so precious. Moments to be embraced and cherished with none being so important as Christmas. That one time of the year when business and careers are put aside while families get together and love abounds. The way Christ meant it to be !
