Confidence in knowing though life seasons change, God does not and he still answers prayer.

As I sat by the large picture window in the living room of my home, I noticed a single leaf attached to the tree in my front yard. Surrounding the tree and covering the yard was a mass of golden leaves that had already succumbed to their fate. I was intrigued as to how the one leaf remained attached to its branch despite the intermittent wind that would cause it to sway.
I think about that leaf from time to time as I cling to the word of God in seasons of change. The wind blows yet I know that in every season... God hears and answers prayer. God is Faithful and True!
It is no wonder then as I recall the leaf, I think of the many changes in my life; educational pursuits, marriage, divorce, jobs, relocations, relationships, health, sorrows, joys, miracles - in short LIFE. These are the winds in life that prompt prayer. Much more, these petitions to God build intimacy and relationship with God. They have increased my faith and trust, knowledge and wisdom in the bounty of His purpose and grace in times of urgency. One such urgency occurred when my appendix ruptured.
After emergency surgery I found out that my appendix had ruptured two weeks before! It was a miracle of God that I survived. My primary physician said it was if God had built a wall and did not allow the infection to course through my body. It had actually been prophesied many years before that there would be such trauma in my abdominal area but God would do a miracle. Praise His holy name!
On one of my follow up visits I heard the surgeon say that my appendix was about the size and color of an avocado. During the time of my surgery my grandson, Darren, asked God to take away all of my pain. I awoke in the recovery room feeling no pain and didn't have to take any pain medication. God said to me, "Now tell Darren I heard and answered his prayer
The opportunity and blessing to pray in times of change and challenge is to know the Christ in crisis. God makes His presence known and that He is a present help in the time of need. Praise Him and He is going to show up! Listen, trust and obey and He will give instructions. I am so grateful to have an ear to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. My desire is to obey and heed instruction.
One of the most important instructions God gave to me was to include my mother in my plans and to spend as much time with her as possible. As my mother's health begin to fail, I became her caregiver. But more than that, God gave us a season of special bonding and precious memories. One day during her time of illness, I received a call that mother had been taken to the hospital and the prognosis did not look good. After monitoring her vitals, the attending physician said that my mother's kidneys were failing and that her blood pressure went from dangerously high to very low. He said that she could die. I looked at mother and saw a single tear fall from her right eye. I said to her, " Mother we know that prayer changes things." At once the Holy Spirit instructed me to decree my mother's organs to line up with the word of God's healing. Within 24 hours her blood pressure was in normal range and her kidneys began to reverse the damage.
When the time did come for my mother's transition, God comforted me with these words: " I am ready to bring her home." I had the honor of doing the eulogy at mother's home going. I spoke on the Lord is My Shepherd
Mother's Response, Mother's Relationship, Mother's Reward.
I have now entered the season of preparing for retirement. God reminded me of the prayer I prayed when seeking gainful employment. There was not an aspect of that prayer that God failed to bring to pass. Even in times of adversity, opposition, back stabbing, and funding challenges - God was (is) Faithful and True! His favor is apparent. This reminder from God helped me to realize the more that God does hear and answer prayer and that He faithfully watches over His word to perform it at just the right time.
Although I have questions and concerns in this very unique season of life, I know God, Jehovah Jireh (my Provider) has already prepared the way. I know that in seasons of change God hears and answers prayer. 
Lean not unto thine own. Understanding. but in all thy ways acknowledge God and He will direct thy path. Proverbs 3:5-6
