I love books that are not only interesting and enjoybable but are also moving, eye opening and shed light on issues important in today's society. I have found myself a book that is exactly that kind of a book. It happened when writer and author Barbara Kasey Smith approached me to help her publish her book Jailbait - a thriller novella.
Getting the book published for Barbara meant reading it in its entirety. It was quite a ride. The story of a 15-yr-old girl Emily running away from home and all that happened as a result of that rash decision kept me on the edge of my seat, moved me beyond words and even brought tears to my eyes.
Being a work of fiction the story is very much real in that nothing is sugar coated. What unfolds is exactly what can happen to a teenage girl in real life if she makes the decision to run away from home and actually goes through with it. If I were a teenager I'd think twice about running away from home after reading this book. And if I were a parent I'd make sure that my daughter never found herself in this type of a situation.
