A wee people's Yankee's article!
Yankee Games are alternative ways of thinking and doing. Leaving in my Hyundai Elantra at 4:30pm after saying goodbye to my roommates at 2908 Sanchez Street, Calvin H. and Mary X I headed for the Sears store on Kennedy Avenue to buy a gray pair of slacks for the game. I GPSd to 1 Steinbrenner Stadium to begin participation in America's international language, baseball. At 5:07pm I got my ticket. In good company with myself I began making up rhythms like puns/guns/buns/bums in the glory story Yankee gift shop. I flashed back to the time when my baseball father coach, James ODougherty bought me my first glove which he taught me to tie and oil. He also tied on my first baseball shoes with cleats, an early experience in orthopsychology. In the methodology of the leprechaun I turned this lesson into a literary act by invoking Baladin, the Irish adventurer, and time leap frogged to the historic Castro/Carter game in Havava which Carter won. The Yankee games in the Bronx are night lighted by Bronx arson fires. This definitely a NYC baseball alternative thought style.
Blesseded and gentleness or Barack Obama, characterized the opening award ceremonies which began with the American and Canadian national anthems. I was seated next to Steve Davis and his family who were from Alabama and at their first Yankee game. I decided to turn the game into an alternative way of remembering AIDS victims by creating a cyberspace memorial to these victims. See shades of yellow in this game article. I began listing my emotions during the innings: hope, doubt, anger, and joy. Shades of Barbara Streisand's songs colored the innings. Alex Rodriquez hit a standup double, a signature, against the Blue Jays to begin the game and commence my memory search for Reggie Jackson's ghosted baseball statistics which haunt the stadium. I turned this Jackson moment into a memory ladder of my early baseball memories like watching Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run and saw deja vu images of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris in the packed cheering sections. Cheering sections are like the Catholic childhood game of Sardines. Where are you in this crowd of fish? Where will Robinson Cano and Derek Jeeters come in on this shuts and ladders memory game?
From my driver's seat I related the dynamics of the game to lessons learned from early Catholic Grade School games like Ghosts in the Graveyard and monopoly. The ghosts in the graveyard were images of AIDS victims seen in the ball players faces. I related these images to my emotion flow during the game-hope, anger, and doubt, and related this river to my childhood baseball library starting at age seven to age thirteen with trips to the baseball park at Linden Hills in South Minneapolis where a southpaw left and right brained baseball camp stories like injuries, bunting and running and sliding into first into a new way of thinking about himself as a player not a kibitzer in life. The scores on the score board in this game 1s and 0s gave a binary opposition to the tight plays of the innings. I related the players numbers to my early passion for numbers like the dots on dominos. Crossroads songs like New York, New York brought the game puzzle together in a repudiation of the dominion of the marketplace. Don't let the market place be a dictator of your life! Look to the game! Look to the ghost of Reggie Jackson in the sky at the stadium and remember and unite yourself with the suffering moments of AIDS victims and there you will find Paddy. Yankees lose to the Blue Jays!
Mapping Your Life From this Game! 1 Start with self examination 2 Relate game memories to your Christian core 3 Make a list of the binary opposition problems in your life, for example, good and evil. Play these oppositions against the shades of yellow theme of the game. 4 Road map your major baseline goals in life and build a timeline into these goals. 5 Relate the flow of the game to your daily rhythms. 6 Pray, read, sacrifice, forgive and journal along your team way! 7 Relate morality of the moment issues to the dark passages in Edith Stein, the Stein in Steinbrenner. 8 Reach out in love in community and solidarity in a commemorative ring. 9 The Sacred Heart has 4 Chambers: the purity chamber, the peace chamber, the father chamber and the direction chamber. The last game I attended was with fellow UW Stout alumni at Minute Maid Park where the Astros played someone I don't remember. The ballpark was beautiful and it seemed quite close up to the play. But the play was rather slow, so I can see why you're recommendation that we spend the time during all the delays to delve into philosophy, politics and public works in our minds.
You seem to be able to do this far more than I. I can only focus on one thing at a time.
