Giving some of your books away:

I was wondering how many authors out there that write childrens stories, and give some of their books away, just to get the word out there. Did it actually make a difference?
Books on Amazon or Barnes And Noble just sit there, if the young reader does not know that its there. Ideas would be appreciated. Melba
