I've already talked about The Greens and The Braxtons, now it's time to take a look at The Reynolds.
Stan is the patriarch of the family and he became a widower at a young age. After the death of his wife, Helen, he was left to raise his children Laura and Jacob on his own. Stan managed to be a good father and a successful businessman by starting his own real estate agency. While Stan’s professional life is going well, his home life experiences some shake-ups thanks to his children.
Laura returns home following her divorce from husband, Elliot. She and her daughter, Megan adjust to their move and Laura goes to work for her father. However, Laura's life is turned upside down when her ex-husband shows up in town threatening to reveal her secret if she doesn’t let him see Megan. The couple argues, but over time they put their problems aside and decide to remain friends for the sake of their daughter. At one point, it looks like the couple could be headed for reconciliation, but that's squashed when Elliot begins dating Greta, a nurse at the hospital he works for. But that's not the end of Laura's problems. Rick Harmon, her ex-lover is hired as the new contractor at her father's agency. Laura tries to keep their past a secret, but that’s put in jeopardy as she and Rick fight the burning desire between them.
Life also isn't easy for Laura's brother, Jacob. The close relationship between Jacob and Stan is torn when Jacob begins dating Alicia Green, who Stan disapproves of. Stan and Jacob fight constantly, leading Jacob to move out and quit the family business. He goes to work for a rival realtor and becomes engaged to Alicia, but trouble looms in the form of Jacob's ex-fiancée, Courtney Braxton. Jacob considered Courtney the love of his life and was heartbroken over the split, yet he moves on. Too bad Courtney doesn’t feel the same way; she begins pursuing Jacob in hopes of rekindling their romance. Jacob tells her to back off and does his best to avoid her, yet he can’t ignore his feelings.
