I wrote this book over a two year period, when I started out I had no idea how it was going to go, how it would end, the ideas just came to me as I wrote but I enjoyed the exploration tremendously.

I don't plot the story as I go, or take notes, I prefer for the words to just flow on to the page, it's a lot more exciting and when I don't know the ending I cannot get bored before it's finished.

Escaping the Prince came from my love of pixies and fairies, magic and mayhem, enchantment and fantasy. I wanted to write something different and that's why there's a mixture of everything in the book and iit isn't predictable. There are a lot of twists and suspense and some wonderful imagery.

When I started out on the project it was difficult to keep up my confidence and enthusiasm and when one gets doubts they also get writers' block which I had to battle on numerous occasions. The only way I could get around this monstrous dillemma was to just write straight from the heart, just write anything down. It broke my fear of the 'blank page' I stopped procastinating and just got stuck in.

Ideas began to flow, some funny, some crazy but I was on a roll and I could really see an end to the book. 

Escaping the Prince has a melange of characters; between animals, pixies, and humans.  The main character, Buttercup, is feisty and determined but she has trust issues and she is a little too carefree. Her journey in the tale brings her from fear and ignorance to one of enlightenment, there is a twist at the end that readers won't expect, but should thoroughly enjoy.
