Keep the kids out of your ugly divorce and stay away from parental alienation, for your children's sake. With each passing year divorce becomes more common and many times children are involuntarily stuck in the middle of a horrible scenario;being used as pawns by one or both of their parents in a chess game and it can be devastating to them. We all know that good rational parents will put their children's best interests first, but in emotionally charged situations people can fail to consider their kids. Legal proceedings should include mandated classes on keeping the children out of the divorce "battle" and when parental alienation rears it's ugly head that parent should be held liable and face legal consequences. Never speak badly of your spouse to your children and never try to play them against your spouse. Put the best interests of your children first and good things will happen.
