But when I go Home…When I stand to be judged… When I leave this place…you can say whatever you want to say about me…
You can tell the world I was a coke dealer...you can tell everybody I dropped outta school..
Some folks will say I was a waste of talent...a lot of people will say I.. Was nothing but trouble.
The old folks a say I never listened…and they’ll probably tell you I put my Mama through hell…
A few folks a cry…but a few will probably scream out “I’m glad he’s gone.”…
But when I go Home…When I stand to be judged….
Whatever they gotta say ain’t gone matter…
I know a handful of people will tell you I changed….
They’ll tell a different side of the story…
They’ll tell you bought a man who never gave up…they’ll tell you bought a man who pursued a better day...
They’ll tell you bought a man who wanted everybody to win…They’ll remember a different me…
The people who met me after I found God..They’ll remember the guy that just kept on smiling…
The “Least of These” will say I never gave up on em…They’ll tell the world that I never left their side…
But when I go Home…When I stand to be judged..Whatever they say ain’t gone matter
The people who really knew me…they’ll tell you that…I never thought it was about me…
They’ll remember a man who…put everybody before himself..and found joy..in serving others.
They’ll tell you that I never wanted to be a leader…but, they’ll say I inspired others to lead…
The folks who really knew me…they’ll tell you a story about a man who fell in Love; with Love.
They’ll tell you a story about a man who believed that..”The Only One That Can Stop Me Is Me.”
But when I go Home..When I stand to be judged..Whatever they say ain’t gone matter
You’ll hear stories about me jumping outta planes..You’ll hear stories about me speaking before legislators…
You’ll hear stories about me giving to the poor..being a friend to the friendless…
You’ll hear about me being a voice…where the was no voice..and being a light in the darkest places…
Some a say I gave when I didn’t have…and I loved when I wasn’t loved…
But when I go Home..When I stand to be judged…Whatever they say ain’t gone matter
One day I’ll be forgotten..one day I’ll be a nothing more than a …faded memory..
I just hope…I just hope the Love I give while I’m here..is enough to spread from person to person…
I pray the Love I put out in the world..is enough to be passed down..generation to generation.
A hundred years from now…I pray that one of the people I touched.. I pray their great grandchildren…
Will give the love that I passed on…to their children.
I pray that the Love that you pass on…will touch the heart of someone who’ll pass it on as well.
But When I go Home..When I stand to be judged..whatever happens ain’t gone matter.
Pass Love around…and when it looks like ain’t nobody Loving back…Love some more.
If they never call your name out..if they never give you an award..keep Loving.
It will matter one day…It’ll bring a smile to someone’s face one day…
