I wrote an article for the July issue of WOW-womenonwriting.com. My article was about travel but their July issue was devoted to writers' conferences and retreats.
There are some conferences devoted to a single subject. For instance there is a travel writers conference at the Book Passage bookstore near San Francisco that is taking place this week.
In January there is another travel writing conference in Orlando, Florida. Each one is only one day and they tend to concentrate on getting articles into magazines and newspapers. Luckily the Florida one has a session on self-publishing books because that happens to be very common occurence in the travel field.
