I am very impressed with the excellent quality of material presented by the Bible Literacy Project. If you are concerned about the next generation becoming familiar with the Bible, please be sure to visit this important site: www.bibleliteracy.org.
The Bible and Its Influence is the title of a thorough, high quality textbook designed for use in public high schools. I purchased a copy of this textbook and think it is a wonderful resource for teachers wanting to give students a basic overview of the Bible. There are many examples of art inspired by Bible stories included in the textbook, making it a fun book through which to browse. Even though I have been a student of the Bible for many decades, I learned new things reading The Bible and Its Influence.
Those of us who love the Bible need to consider how we can advance Bible literacy. Reading the two Bible literacy reports published by the Bible Literacy Project and pointing others to this website are two small steps anyone can take to help.
