A response to my most recent posting on Authorsden.com. From a daily check of my den activity, I see that my recnt short story posting, "Mrs. Boldrey's dreams" has beem read by 38 visitiors (39, but I went to the site once and that really doesn't count), but I haven't received any reviews or messages regarding it, so I'm assuming that it wan't all that well received.
I understand and I'm not going to launch into a rant about how unappreciated I feel. After three years and many wonderful notes of encouragement, I have no right to do somehting like that.
That story was probably easier to write than it was to explain, or even figure out, which has been somehting other people who have read versions of "Mrs. Boldrey's dreams" have had trouble with.
Do you want to know what's really strange? This was a feeble attempt at writing soemthing scary, or at least "spooky" (I think the unnerving is more my style than the macabre) and like anybody who's tried that, I've already thought about a sequel.
