Martha Hamlett visited Hollymead Elementary on May 7th. I just had to talk about my recent school visit. I was at Hollymead Elementary in Charlottesville, VA on Friday, May 7th. I read to the 1st and 2nd grade classes. They were an awesome bunch! A very versatile group of kids. In fact, many are very worldly. I had one little girl who visits Africa each summer and another that speaks fluent Arabic. One little boy was from Brazil and very proud of his dual culture. In addition to being a combination of all kinds of cultures and backgrounds, they were extrememly polite and well-mannered. They interacted with me and were eager to participate in my "Imagination Journey" activity.
Just today, I received a package of notes and drawings that they put together for me so that I could have them for my scrap book.
Way to go Hollymead!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit!!
