Come Celebrate the 6-Year Bookiversary for 'Blackbird Flies' 3/9/2017 1:28:28 PM
Hello everyone! First, I'd like to take the time to thank our new followers. I am so appreciative to those who have supported me throughout my writing journey.
Now, I remembered yesterday that March is the six-year Bookiversary for my dark, Contemporary YA novella, 'Blackbird Flies'. It was the first novel-length book I wrote, and the story is very close to my heart.
It is a hard read for some as it tackles such subjects as death of a parent, mental illness, drug abuse and teen suicide. However, the bright spot is that the main character, Payton, is surrounded by all of this chaos, and turns to his music instead. A lot of teens turn down the same path as what they are surrounded by, but Payton shows us that if you have that one positive, beautiful thing in your life, and even just one person who believes in you, you can rise above it all.
