As I sit here, reflecting once again I realize I have more blessing than I could ever count.
I have an amazing family. People who would stand by me, hold me up or even help me pick up the pieces when my life has shattered again. I can count on them at any time of the day or night. They would rush to me in my hour of need, never hesitate or think twice. They would give up their last dollar or the clothes off of their own back. They loved me when I was "nobody", doing nothing with my life and they beam with pride now that I have tasted a bit of sucess.
I also have an amazing host of friends. The people who are out removing trees from my fence when there are 50 on their own down (after a tornado in 2002). They ask how I am when they are in the depths of their own grief and bring food and comfort to me when I am hurting. Selfless does not do justice to their genrosity.
To my friend at the den:
You review my works devotedly, always leaving notes of encouragement. You support me in all of my endevors, no matter how large or small. I wouldn't still be writing if you were not in my life.
I guess having all of these amazing people in my life makes things like clothes or big fancy houses seem hollow and void. I don't need anything else in my life as long as I am in the company of such greatness in the form of amazing friends and family.

Take time to slow down and realize what really matter this Christmas.
