My granddaughter is ten years old, and she wears a size 26 b cup bra! She's 5ft. tall, and wants colored contact lenses! What's a granny to do! I went online to try and find some information on Premature Puberty, and boy! Did I find a lot! It seems this is more common than I realized! I should'nt be so alarmed, because I'm a victim of the same malody. The worse part is, my Nita started her period 2 months after she turned ten! Sigh! I start the day after I turned 9 tears old!
Well, the article, in the New York times, stated that a study was done in Barcelona on girls as young as 7 who had started developing breasts and pubic hair! Their findings? Babies born weighing under 6lbs. were said to have a sudden hormone increase to make up for the slow growth while in the mother's womb! Go figure! Any mom's out there with ten year old teenagers like me? We need more info, please! And, how do you deal with this? She's 14 in her mind! I want my little girl back! The article did say that there's a drug, Lupron, that may help to slow down the hormonal growth. It's worth looking into.
The worst danger, and horrifying truth is: These little girls are ovulating!!! They could have babies!!! They have a tendency to become sexually active alot earlier than girls their own age. I am a living examlpe of this truth. All my friends were atleast 3 years older than me. i didn't fit with other girls my age, they didn't relate to me and my ideas, but older girls did. and so did older boys! I became aware of my woman attractiveness at 11. I wanted the attention of older boys. I wanted to know ow it felt to be kissed! Well, to make a sad story short, I became sexually active at 11 and a half, and gave birth to my first child when I was a tender 14 years old! And so, I see that sad future glaring at my granddaughter!
But, I am aware, where my mother was not. She didn't know what to do about me! But I can get some help in the form of information and possibly medication!
